Important Tips

Please remember to care for your Starhaler as if it is your good friend. Click on the below tips to know more about your Starhaler.

Please ensure that while opening the cap you do not apply any undue force on it.
While inhaling, please ensure that the air vents are not blocked by the lower lip, chin or thumb and thus remains open.
During inhalation the "click" indicates that you have inhaled quickly and deeply enough for the Starhaler device to work and deliver the dose.

If you do not hear the click sound, it means that you have not held the device properly or you have not inhaled quickly and deeply.

Please repeat this step if you do not hear the “click” sound. If you stop inhalation after the "click" sound you can inhale again without closing the cap.
The dose number displayed shows the remaining doses in the device.

The dose number in the dose counter changes ONLY when you have inhaled successfully.

After inhaling a dose and closing the cap, if you notice that the dose number in
the dose counter has not changed, it means that the dose is not delivered.
In such a case, repeat Steps 1, 2 and 3 carefully as explained in this booklet.

A dose will not be used or wasted by just opening and closing the cap, or if you do not hear the “click” sound after inhaling.

It is advisable to check the dose counter from time to time to check on the number of doses left.
The Starhaler also has a special feature for elderly and visually impaired patients to remind them about the right time to purchase a new pack.

A braille button (small pin like structure) on the back of the Starhaler protrudes out when only few doses are left in it.

  • Even after few attempts if the dose counter does not move, stop using the Starhaler and consult your physician.
  • Never blow air into the Starhaler.
